Antique Cherub Oil Lamp With Original Shade, Circa 1870's. Excellent Original Condition.
This listing features a figural oil lamp. Made in England.
This lamp is a double wick configuration and remains unconverted.
There are 24 Austrian Crystals hanging from the lamp shade.
Each crystal is 4 inches long. From top to bottom.
The main shade is made of red ruby glass. It still has it's original chimney.
The lamp is 36 inches tall to the top of the globe. To the top of the chimney it measures 40 inches.
It is 44 inches around the brass at the bottom of the globe.
The top and bottom of the red ruby dome is surrounded by solid brass. Crystal prisms suspend from the solid brass gallery at the bottom.
3 cyma curved, acanthus arms ( Architecture: either of two moldings having a partly convex and partly concave curve for an outline: used especially in classical architecture.)
support the gallery and dome on a base of 2 bronze cherubs. 3 legged carved scroll and acanthus feet. Superb & striking, all original.
I have had this for 35 years. I have down sized and don't have room for it. I have seen a couple for sale but not a red one.
They are advertised from $1000 to $2500.
